Government polytechnic college, cheyyar was established by the Tamilnadu Government in the year 2013. This institution functioning in 7.16 acres land area and as got the approval of the Tamilnadu Government and AICTE. This institution has the following facilities,

Boys hostel with 182 rooms and girls hostel with 130 rooms provided with the needed facilities like kitchen, dinning hall, etc. This institution is a co-education Government Polytechnic College with Five diploma courses are being offered namely The college has been started with five courses with an intake of 60 seats in each courses of 3 years duration.Intake for each couse is 60. Inspite of this in take of 12 as lateral entry in the second year.
